Computer Science Education, powered by YOU
I am excited to share with you CodeCrew’s highlights from the 2021-2022 school year and the extraordinary impact our team has made on advancing computer science education in Memphis and Tennessee.
But first, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our partners, donors, and sponsors who have supported us throughout the year. It is because of your commitments and generous contributions that we have been able to make a meaningful impact in our community.
Over the past year, we have seen tremendous growth in our outreach. Our school programs have expanded to serve over 1,600 students across Memphis. Additionally, we established a new partnership with the Museum of Science and History (MoSH) to provide innovative after-school programs and summer camps, reaching an additional 429 students. We organized several tech-focused events and workshops that provided networking and professional development opportunities for community members looking to develop deeper connections with computer science. Finally, we partnered with Bank of America and the NBA Foundation to advance our adult Code School program, providing scholarships and stipends for adult learners to become software engineers.
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue building upon the foundation established and expand our reach to even more students and community members.
Again, we are grateful for your support which makes our work possible. I am confident that together we will continue to positively impact Memphis and Tennessee through Computer Science.
Sincerely,

Student Voice
Throughout the year, CodeCrew conducts extensive surveying to gauge its effort in advancing CS education. Specifically, pre- and post-program surveys are conducted and evaluated to inform CodeCrew about its work and the students it serves. Survey questions are designed to measure confidence in CS. Below are survey results from the 2021-2022 school year.
