This week-long camp is packed with hands-on STEM activities, creative projects, and opportunities to explore the world of technology in a fun and engaging environment. Students will dive into topics like virtual reality, AI, gaming, robotics, and more while building skills and making new friends

  • Location: Southwest Tennessee Community College - Macon Cove Campus, 5983 Macon Cove, Memphis, TN 38134(Directions can be found here)

Field Trip

  • Tuesday, October 14th

  • Students will spend the day with the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum to get a behind-the-scenes look at game day (Arena Oops and IT FedEx Tour).

  • More details to be shared after registration.

AI Explorers: Middle School
Grades 5th – 8th

Overview

Frequency: 1 time per week, 90 minutes per session
 

Grades:

  • 5th & 6th (AI Explorer)

    • ​Visual coding (Scratch, MakeCode), hands-on unplugged activities, and AI demos.

  • 7th & 8th (AI Innovators)

    • ​Text-based coding (Python/JavaScript), more complex AI tools, and real-world problem-solving

Goals:

  • Introduce core computer science skills

  • Demystify artificial intelligence concepts

  • Foster creativity, problem-solving, and ethical thinking

Program Outcomes

By the end of the program, students will:

  • Recognize ethical considerations and the importance of fairness in AI technology.

  • Develop confidence and curiosity to pursue further learning in computer science and AI.
